60 new companies registered in Ilford from 21 August to 4 September, from a bakery to an arts studio. Plus the Redbridge firms in this month's Gazette notices.

Sixty new companies were registered with an Ilford address in the two weeks from 21 August to 4 September. That is about four a day.

Online sellers are the single biggest group. But the list also includes a bakery, a greengrocer, a food and wine shop, an arts studio and a residential care company.

Everything here comes from the Companies House register. Each company is listed by its registered name and the nature of business it gave when it registered. We give only the postcode district, not the street address.

The ones to watch for on the high street

A registered office is not a shop. Many new companies are run from home or online. These are the ones whose nature of business suggests a counter, a kitchen or a studio:

  • LAFAYETTE LIMITED (IG2): bread, cakes and confectionery, and unlicensed restaurants and cafes.
  • DESCAN LIMITED (IG4): fruit and vegetables.
  • ILFORD FOOD AND WINE LTD (IG1): a general store selling mainly food, drink or tobacco.
  • SANGZ CHICKEN LTD (IG1): meat and meat products, and other food services.
  • RKU LONDON LTD (IG1): licensed restaurants and takeaway food.
  • CLAY ON STUDIO LIMITED (IG3): artistic creation and the operation of arts facilities.
  • SPEED WASH LTD (IG4): washing and dry cleaning.

Registering a company does not mean it has premises or has started trading. If one of these is opening near you, we would like to hear about it.

Closures and insolvency notices

The London Gazette has published notices this month for these companies with a trading address or registered office in Redbridge. We report them exactly as the Gazette records them. A members’ voluntary liquidation is a solvent closure: the company can pay its debts in full.

Creditors’ voluntary liquidations (the company cannot pay its debts):

  • INDIAN AROMA CUISINE LIMITED, licensed restaurant, trading address Woodford Avenue, Gants Hill. Liquidators appointed, notice published 17 September.
  • GB2 HOLDINGS LIMITED, unlicensed restaurants and cafes, trading address Woodford Avenue, Gants Hill. Liquidators appointed 24 August, notice published 11 September.
  • MUST WINE WANSTEAD LIMITED, licensed restaurants, trading as MUST Wine Bar, E11. Liquidator appointed 27 August, notice published 2 September.
  • CHANDLER KING (CITY) LIMITED, financial intermediation, registered at Broomhill Road, Woodford Green. Liquidators appointed by creditors, notice published 23 September.
  • BEAR BRO DRYLINING LTD, carpentry, registered in Ilford (IG2). Liquidators appointed by creditors, notice published 18 September.

Winding-up orders made by the court:

Members’ voluntary liquidations (solvent closures):

Several other notices mention Woodford only because the insolvency practitioner handling them has an office in Woodford Green. Those companies trade elsewhere, so we have left them out.

If you run one of the companies named here and think the record is wrong or out of date, email hello@ilfordtoday.co.uk and we will check it against the register and correct it.

What it means for you

  • If you are starting a business, the council’s business pages cover licences, business rates and food registration.
  • If you are owed money by a company in liquidation, the Gazette notice names the liquidator to contact. Some notices set a deadline for claims, so read it in full.
  • If a new business opens near you, tell us. We cover openings as news when the business confirms the details.
